Treadmill in a bright home gym

Choosing the Right Treadmill for Your Home

A treadmill is one of the smartest investments you can make in your health. Walking, jogging or sprinting, your own machine gives you full control over your schedule, with no gym required.

This guide covers what actually matters when choosing one, then compares every treadmill in our range so you can see exactly where your budget goes.

1. Motor power

The motor determines how smooth and capable the machine feels. As a rule of thumb: 1 to 1.5 HP suits walking and light jogging, 2 to 2.5 HP suits regular running, and 3 HP or more is built for long, fast sessions. Curved treadmills have no motor at all; your legs drive the belt, which makes them the toughest workout in the room.

2. Speed and incline

Walkers are happy at 10 to 14 km/h. Runners should look for 18 to 20 km/h with automatic incline to mimic hills and burn more energy. On a curved treadmill the belt moves as fast as you do, so sprinters can push past 25 km/h.

3. Cushioning and stability

Joint support matters over long distances. A cushioned deck reduces the impact on knees and ankles, and a heavier frame means less wobble at speed.

4. Size and storage

Measure your space before you buy, including ceiling height if you are tall. Every product page lists assembled, folded and boxed dimensions under Specifications. If room is tight, our foldable models fold flat and roll away on wheels.

5. Smart features

Bluetooth speakers, heart rate sensors and app connectivity keep training interesting. Most of our range connects to Zwift and Kinomap, so you can run virtual routes around the world from your living room.

Which one is right for you?

Daily walker on a budget: the E110 covers walking and light jogging for under R4,000 and folds away afterwards.

First treadmill for a small space: the P400 Ultra 2.0 is our most compact runner. It folds completely flat and rolls under a bed.

The family all-rounder: the P540 or P620 Smart 2.0. Automatic incline, app connectivity and enough motor for everyone in the house.

Serious runners: the E650 Elite or E650X Touch Plus. 3.5 HP motors, 20 km/h top speed and gym-grade decks for marathon training at home.

Athletes and HIIT training: the C300 or C1000 Elite curved treadmills. Self-powered, brutal in the best way, and the closest thing to outdoor sprinting indoors.
